Relaxing

The relaxation exercise is soothing and calming. I find the chimes remind me of a Buddhist temple and all that is missing is the smell of incense. This autogenic training technique suggests the movement of flow of blood from your body's core to flow to other parts of your body by consciously directing the flow to other parts. Strangely enough it worked the very first time I tried it. Laying still with my eyes closed I actually felt my abdominal area become tight, I didn't feel my arms becoming warm but they did feel heavy. This tape reminds me of self hypnosis, his voice is non intrusive so that you concentrate on the instructions. The power of suggestion to control your own body is really quite amazing. I will do this again; great stress reliever. Sharon

  1. Hi Sharon, it's nice to meet you. It's really interesting to learn a bit about your life and where you have lived, thank you for sharing. Does Europe and the Middle East focus more on holistic approaches to health or more on the medical end?, just curious since I have never been to either.I think I will practice the relaxation exercise tonight when my little ones are in bed, then it will probably work :)

  2. Hi Sharon:

I agree that the chimes did sound like a buddhist temple. I enjoyed the music. It is interesting how a meer suggestion can control functions of our body. It isn't very surprising to me, though. Take for example, seeing someone yawn, and suddenly you are yawning too. Also, has the sound of running water ever made you suddenly have to go to the bathroom? Suggestion is very powerful, indeed.
