That there is a God who is the origin of everything:
that there is an element of his divine origin in every person,
which he can diminish or increase through his way of living;
that in order for someone to increase this source he must suppress
his passions and increase the love within himself;
the only practical means of achieving this consists in doing
to others as you would wish to do to you ( Tolstoy, 1879)

Treating others as you would want to be treated is the best way to look at life. Why steal from someone if you would never want someone to steal from you. Never lie to someone if you don't want to be lied to. Never hit anyone, if you don't want to be hit. I put myself in other people's shoes and try not to do things that I would never want done to me. You are correct there is a God who controls the path and future of all things and it is not our place to determine what that path is but to only give praise and support to others so they can make the right decisions in life.
ReplyDeleteSharon that is true God is the head or origin of everything and he walk and talk to us as we go throughout our day. When we listen he help us to make the right decision about our life.

Hi Sharon,
ReplyDeleteWhat a true a post. If people would live by this statement: do unto other as you want done upon you, the world would be in a better place. People need to start putting theirself in other people shoes.
