Loving Kindness, and the Subtle Mind

This course has been very interesting and some of the practices are indeed beneficial in helping to look inward to motivation, and experience. Its like cleaning out cobwebs in the Attic and and finding all kinds of treasures , and trash. I have been meditating for many years, but visualization is a technique that I seldom use. This class has brought the practice back to mind and expanded on it, to where I enjoy and look forward to it at night before I go to bed. I find it helps, in accounting for emotions and behaviors; the day has been examined, becomes accounted for and is balanced. If necessary it gives me a things to do list for the next day, building and repairing. Sharon

  1. Sharon,
Great insight. I believe that you have a great hook on the way these exercises work, and what they can do for you. I am new at these ways of exercise. I am very good at training the mind, and have been for years. I can push away thoughts to get back to where i need to be, but I have never had quiet time or peace unless I was not married and had the kids in bed. I am getting old and need to find ways to focus and bring myself back to where I need to be spiritually. I am wasting precious time, and will be sorry. I hope these exercises can help me as they do you.

  2. Sharon,
Thanks for sharing. It is interesting what you will find in your mind if you just stop and really inspect it. I agree with you that within this class, it is like cleaning out the cob webs in your mind. I know that I still have a long way to go. However, I know that keeping a positive mind in on the top of the list. Getting my mind to calm down is up there too. If we can just focus and take that time to clear and clean every day, we can focus on what is before us and be more attentive during the day. Thank you for sharing with us!
